Speaking of Greenery
| news item by sbarranca , I read to escape and I escape to read! |
Written by Susan Barranca
Apparently the lastest book publishing news isn't about what is written, but what it is written on!
Book publishers are very concerned about making books in a "greener way." Reading books is a pretty "green" activity, but making them is not considered "Green."
Some publishers are setting goals about publishing on recycled paper, well at least 60% of publishers are. The other 40% are not weighing in on the matter yet.
Another way to reduced the environmental impact of the book world is to read using an e readers.
Or you can do what I try to do, and that is to buy second hand books. Not only do you save money, but you might save a tree too. But don't forget to check Dustjacketreview for an opinion on the book first!
