Another scandal, Another book

Okay, Okay, I admit, that when another book written by yet another political reader hits the bookstore, I am not the first in line.  And I never ever went to a midnight release party for a political book either.

Can you imangine one though?  Instead of people dressed as wizards, and displays on owls, everyone could be dressed in business suits, and there would be displays on "how to sound sincere."  What a downright scary thought.

But wait, Yet another new book about a political leader is in the works.   If you hit the bookshelves these days, it looks like publishing is now a prerequisite for running for office.  There must have a been a "Running for office for Dummies" book published somewhere that listed: Step 4: publish a book that details your political beliefs...(warning: do not be specific about anything though - it may trap you later)

However, this new book  is about a fallen leader.  Penguin publishers just signed Peter Elkind (the author of Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room) to help write a book about the rise and fall of Ex-Governor Eliot Spitzer.  This one might have some more interesting tidbits in it.  It might contain more meat than details about a state dinner...unless that dinner ended up with illicit, illegal sex for the dessert.

For those of you who don't know this story, New York's former governor met his downfall when the scandal of his alliances with prostitutes came to light.  Apparently, a $5,500 dollar an hour prostitute is really called a call-girl, but nevertheless, under New York State law it is still illegal no matter how much it cost.  Spitzer got caught which changed his nickname to Client9.  Elkind is going to investigate in depth and then publish a book about Spitzer's rise and then his fall.

Get this..there also may be  film in the deal.  SEe you at the midnight release party...
